Handicap Corner

Peer Review: The most important element of the handicap system for ensuring fairness is peer review.                All handicaps and posted scores are accessible by any USGA handicap member.  You can log into MGALinks.org, click Peer Review and search by state and name.  You can also review member scores from the handicap terminal at the club.  The handicap committee (Tom Berkel, Tom Sullivan and Malcolm Fick) has the authority to post scores if the member doesn't.  So if you see that someone is not posting significant scores, let one of us know.  We can talk to the person and, if necessary, post missing scores.  By the way, a quick search of the site reveals that, as of July 15, 2017, President Donald Trump (Florida)  has a handicap index of 2.8 (although he has posted no scores in 2017, only one in 2016 and two in 2015);  Phil Mickelson (Arizona) has a handicap index of +5.6.  He has posted 20 scores just since May— all of them Tournament scores.
